An active US Chess membership is required to play in rated tournaments, and some school teams require one before a player can join.
New members get their US Chess ID right away. Use that ID when you register your player for a tournament.
Already have an ID? Renew it on the same form. Don't buy a new membership, or you'll end up with two IDs.

Add the new US Chess ID to your player's profile on this site, so it's filled in every time you register.
