Anthony Guerra, (Candidate Master, rated 2081) has been playing competitive chess for over 19 years in the State of Texas during which he has won Texas State titles and has placed 1st at various Open Tournaments. Accomplishments include 2011 South West Open Amateur Champion and 2013 US Class Blitz Champion. Coaching successes include 2 individual State Champions, (2011 and 2012 High School JV Champions) and 1 Team Championship (2011 High School JV Team Champions). Anthony coaches in the RGV area for private, group, and school lessons.

Curtis Brooks, (National Master, rated 2248) has been playing competitive chess for over 18 years in the State of Texas during which he has won Texas State titles and has placed 1st at various Open Tournaments. Accomplishments include 2014 World Open u2200 Champion. Coaching successes include 2 individual State Champions (2014 Middle School JV Champion and 2014 State Girls Elementary Champion). Curtis is available for coaching in Houston for private and group lessons.

Bo Githoro, (National Master, rated 2212) has been playing competitive chess for over 20 years in the State of Texas during which he has won 2 Texas Scholastic State Chess Championships. He has over 10 yrs of teaching chess experience producing State Champions as early as the 1st grade. His interactive and innovative methods of teaching are equipped to take all playing levels to the next level. Is seeking to teach players only serious about improving their chess abilities. Bo is available for coaching in Houston for private, groups and school lessons.

Business Manager

Private and group lessons are done at our location based on availability. Group lessons must consist of four (4) or more players to qualify for group rates.

School lessons can be contracted with your school for groups of eight (8) or more students as an after school program. It must have administration approval from your principal/district.

All of our instructors are available for online Skype lessons.
